Katie has 18+ years of training and professional experience in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and modern. She danced for a year at Bard College while the Bill T. Jones Company was in residence, and then transferred to the University of Chicago, where she was an instructor for and performed in La Bayadere with the university's company, UBallet. Katie has worked as a swing and dance captain for Cedar Fair Entertainment Company's shows at World of Fun amusement park. She also pioneered a youth dance program in Hyde Park, where she designed the curriculum and served as the lead instructor for the dance and acting programs. Katie is also a choreographer and certified yoga instructor.​
